How to deal and treat with allergic symptoms

Symptoms of allergies are generally mild, in the form of itchy skin, watery eyes, or sneezing. But in certain cases, allergic reactions can turn into anaphylactic shock that is life threatening.

If you or someone else experience an allergic reaction, follow the ways below to treat the symptoms until they subside:

Avoid Allergen Immediately
Shortly after allergy symptoms appear, you should immediately recognize and avoid the source of the trigger. Triggers allergies are generally all around you, it can be food, pollution, dust, animal feathers, to certain drugs.

If your allergen is food, stop eating immediately. Meanwhile, if you allergies are triggered by dust or animal feathers, immediately move to another room that is not polluted.

During this time, you have to also be calm. Feeling panic or anxiety can actually worsen your allergic reaction.

Take Medicine
Take allergy medicine immediately after the first symptoms appear to immediately treat your condition. Allergy medications can generally be used as a first way to deal with common allergic symptoms such as itching, sneezing, and swelling on the lips.

Apply an Allergy Cream
Bentles and itching due to allergies should be scratched. This habit can cause blisters and then symptoms get worse.

As a way to treat these allergic symptoms, you can dry out and change your clothes. use long-sleeved clothes made from soft cotton as a way to treat itching due to allergies. Avoid wearing tight clothing because it can cause allergic symptoms, such as itching and shortness of breath and it gets worse.

Soak Warm Water Mixed with Colloidal Oatmeal
You can also deal with itching due to allergies by soaking in warm water and mixed with colloidal oatmeal. It is oatmeal finely ground into powder.

Treating itching by soaking colloidal oatmeal can soothe inflamed skin due to allergies.

Make sure you use a mixture of water that is really warm. The reason is if you use hot water, it can irritate and make your skin that is exposed to allergic symptoms become dry.

Ice Pack
You can also treat itching or swelling due to allergic symptoms by compressing ice.

Fill a plastic bag with a few blocks of ice. Wrap it in thin washcloth and place it directly on the itchy or swollen part of the body. Compress for 10 to 15 minutes.

This method can be used repeatedly until the symptoms subside, but you can provide a distance between compressing sessions per 15 minutes.

Use Saline Spray to Relieve Nasal Congestion

You can use nasal spray as a way to treat as well as relieve nasal congestion when allergic.

So the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) recommends that you treat the condition by using saline water. Rinsing with saline water can remove allergens and clean the airways.
